Corporate Communication 2009

You are cordially invited to join us for CCI's 2009 conference to be held at Wroxton College in Wroxton, near Banbury, Oxfordshire, England, with its global focus on the theory, practice, roles, processes, and issues of concern to corporate communication scholars and practitioners.

The conference is scheduled for Friday, June 5 to Monday, June 8, 2009 beginning with a reception at 7:30 PM on Friday, June 5. The morning break at 11:00 AM will mark the close of the program on Monday, June 8.

The three-day international conference serves as a bridge between practitioners and scholars, providing a collegial environment in an historic setting to exchange ideas and information on relevant issues facing the corporate communication profession. Speakers from industry and universities gather from across the globe with twenty countries represented in 2008.

A Call for Papers and Format Guidelines for Published Proceedings have been issued. (See gray box on right.) Papers and conference presentations must be relevant to academics and practitioners alike. We encourage submissions from both those working in corporate communication careers and those studying the field. Proposals for original research, case studies and other life lessons, panel discussions, workshops or demonstrations, or a complete session devoted to an issue are welcome. Areas of interest are:

The deadline for submission of proposals to CCI is 12 January 2009. Your proposal should include: title; abstract of summary (limited to 150 words) which covers purpose, approach, findings, research implications, practical implications or applications; up to six key words; and paper type: case study, technical concept, editorial, research, general review, and send to cci@corporatecomm.org attention of Dr. Michael B. Goodman, Drector, CCI at Baruch College/CUNY.

General Information
Registration fees including meals and accommodations in U.S. dollars are:

  • US $685 for CCI members
  • US $735 for presenters
  • US $935 for corporate non-members
  • US $935 for sole practitioner non-members
  • US $835 for academic / non-profit non-members
  • US $610 for full-time graduate students
  • US $535 for guests of attendees

Conference presenters: $250 deposit required by 1 March 2009 following paper / proposal acceptance. Full payment is due by 1 May 2009.

Conference attendees: Payment due with registration. Please register early. Accommodations are limited. Once the college’s accommodations are full, participants will be directed to make their own arrangements at local hotels, and their conference fee will be modified accordingly.

Best paper award
Refereed papers will be published in the conference Proceedings. Best and Highly Commended Paper awards, sponsored by Emerald Group Publishing, Ltd., publisher of Corporate Communications: An International Journal, will be presented at the conference to the authors of the best papers overall. Papers will also be considered for publication in Corporate Communications: An International Journal.

Conference venue
Conference attendees are accommodated either in Wroxton Abbey, a seventh-century Jacobean mansion, parts of which date back to 1217, or in the college's renovated Carriage House. Enjoy glorious views of surrounding 56 acres of lawns, ponds, and woodlands. Easy transport links to London, Oxford, Stratford-upon-Avon, and Warwick Castle.
